Alibaug Unveiled: Beach Bliss and Beyond in Mumbai's Coastal Gem
So, in this blog, we will take you over to our 1-day getaway trip to the soothing Alibaug beach. Folks! Fasten up your seatbelts, as we will take you to the sands of Raigad and the blues of the Arabian sea…
I bid a goodbye to the dosy night sleep before the Crack of the dawn and jumped into my best-loved dress. Loaded a backpack and here I was all set to commence this exhilarating trip!
Road trip from home to gateway of India
At
around 6’oclock in the morning, the car trip started for Gateway of India. We
crossed the magnificent Bandra-worli Sea link and were overwhelmed by the curve
of Mumbai, that is the stony coast of the MarineDrive, popularly known as the necklace of
Mumbai. The aged monuments of South Mumbai
were whispering their own history and the past is always heard! The discipline
of the strong standing edifices as if spoke their story that inflamed my heart.
Never the least, we parked the car at a random parking place and waked towards
the mighty gateway.
At the gateway
We
reached the gateway at around 7.30 am. This tall standing monument, roaring
with pride as if welcoming us into the hefty Arabian sea. Until dad books ferry
tickets for us, we caught up with some photoshoot with this landmark of Mumbai.
The ferry rides!
I
always enjoy the ferry rides as I can feel the beautiful warm sea breeze
hustling past my face. Toddlers feeding the cute seagulls. The brave cutting
waters, the thematic blue waves shone bright as the sunrays reflected over it.
The tall standing green hills enveloped the sea as if protecting it. In the
middle of this mighty Arabian were many other commercial fishing ships and a
few oil refineries. This itself describes the economic importance of this south
coast of Mumbai!
At the Mandwa jetty
After
some 45 minutes the ferry rocked at the Mandwa Jetty. We walked straight for a
brief while before reaching the local bus stand. We Boarded the bus to Alibaug
with ticket prices of Rs 40 per person. After next 30 minutes of roller-coaster
road ride, we were at Alibaug! Finally! There we took another rickshaw to the
beach and within next 15 minutes we were at the beach!
The Alibaug beach
Outside,
I found many fast-food stalls and full meal hotels. At around 11.15 we had a
hearty breakfast and got our clothes changed in the changing room. And they’re
begun the real fun at the beach!
The
sprawling shores of black sand, it is ideal for a leisure stroll, enjoying most
photogenic sunset, boat ride to the fort located mid-sea, and relishing
sumptuous seafood is what, Alibaug is famous for.
The camel ride
The
exciting camel ride on the sand takes us to the feel of the Mediterranean
desert. The ride costs Rs.100 per person and covers a fair distance. That ride
was a real fun!
The banana boats
In my
experience the banana boat was the best water ride. Basically, it is a long air-filled
bag that runs on water, pulled by a speed boat. It costs Rs.500 per person. The
banana boat ride is one of the most loved water sports in Alibaug. Zooming
across the clear blue waters of Arabian sea on the top of an inflatable banana
boat ride is a fun experience. If you are unaware of this ride, then this is a
ride where you will be sitting on an inflatable banana boat and will be pulled
behind the jet skis.
The parasailing ride
Hold
your breaths! The most thrilling ride is this one! Parasailing is one of the
most loved water sports in Alibaug, giving you the elegant bird's eye view of
some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. While high in the air, you
can also have a beautiful view of Mumbai City. It costs 1000 per person, which
is fair enough.
The jet skies
Riding
the waves of the Arabian Sea on a jet ski can be too much fun. Yet another
famous water sport in Alibaug, jet skiing can be enjoyed by anyone. The best
way to enjoy this great water sport is to rent a jet ski from the local
vendors.
Snack time
We all
were too tired after the rides and random swimming in the waters. There were
small snack stalls selling namkeen, shev puri, pani puri,
starfruits, bhutta,
salted berries and many more. I had mouth-watering salted berries. They were
yummy!
The departure
After long hours of playing in
waters and sand we were too exhausted to walk any step ahead. We got accommodated
in the nearby local Bhima-Shankar cottage which costed us 2400 of one night
stay for five people. It was air conditioned and we’ll maintained we had dinner
on around 9 at the nearby local hotel. We ordered authentic seafood dishes and
ended it with ice-creams as dessert.
Done for the day
Wrapped
for the days by reviewing the photographs and having a brief chat about the day
spent with parents. The day was super fun and soothing at the same time.
