Exploring Mumbai - Cause History speaks!
Hello folky folks! Here we are with, back with another astonishing travel blog to some famous places of Mumbai! Let us freshen up our souls and sit into some stirring rides on the streets of the city of dreams-Bombay!
THE DAY STARTS
MAY 10, 2022
That nasty alarm broke my sweet dream in the dark dawn at 5am but customarily snoozing it, I opened my eyes in the next 30 minutes and caught up with a speedy pace, jumped into a light dress for this one-day tour. Finally, I was all set with a bag-pack loaded with summer essentials to beat the heat.
THINGS TO CARRY
A cap, Water bottle, Sun cream, Scarf.
Hanging bag, Wallet, always keep polybags for emergency.
THE JOURNEY BEGINS!
We boarded the train to CSMT at 7:06 am from Vangani Station
with ticket fares of Rs.20 each and as very expected, the train was overfilled
with diligent, industrious passengers habitually getting along with the
morning. We kept standing until some kind passengers offered us seats. My time
was well spent with the choo-choo, chuff-chuff cries of the train, laughs
and chatters with my fellow buddies, discussing the day trip and planning
the sites to cover in South Bombay! The train touched CSMT at around 8:30 am. We got
into some photoshoots of the magnificent monuments.
THE BREAKFAST
Remembering the words by John Gunther "All
happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast", we dived into the
"Khau Gali", exact opposite to the station. The Food Street
overloaded with huzzy-buzzy office employees gobbling up some -pav bhaji,
masala dosa, Uthappam, Medu-Vada, Idli, Sandwiches, Frankie’s and nevertheless
poha! We caught up with masala dosas and not to mention they were delectable.
After supping the quiet, warm "Adrak chai" we felt energized for the
day!
” चलो इस बेफिक्र दुनिया को
खुल कर जी लेते हैं…सब
काम छोडो…
पहले चाय पी लेते हैं “
CSMT
This is a famous landmark which has become a symbol of the city, was built as the headquarters of the Great India Peninsular Railway. This magnificent monument roaring high in pride is a UNESCO world heritage site! Adding grandeur to the streets of South Bombay, watching this structure was a delight to eyes.
BMC
BUILDING
The BMC, is the governing civic body of Mumbai. It is
India's richest municipal corporation, with annual budget that exceeds
that of some of India's smaller states.
We discussed on the history of these monuments and appreciated the fine interiors they showcased to the world!
VEERMATA
JIJABAI UDYAN
At around 9:15, we booked a cab to this astounding zoo at South Mumbai! From CSMT it costed us around 140Rps. If you are a wildlife lover and will to explore the depths of fauna n' flora, but are clinged in the concrete bars and have no time for long jungle safaris, hey! hey! Hold on... This zoo is just the perfect spot for you! The ticket fares are quiet appetising ranging from Rs.50 for adults and Rs.30 for children.
TRIUMPHAL ARC
The Entrance is humongous, flaunting the beauty of British architecture.
THE KALA
GHODA
Kala Ghoda is the black stone statue of King Edward
VII, the prince of whales. It magnifies the charm of the entrance with its bold
black hue.
DAVID
SASSOON CLOCKTOWER
This old tower of stones appeared breathing anew! The Porbandar
Stone, the footing of black basalt, hard stones appeared breathing like a new
born, born hundreds of years ago!
DR. BHAU
DAJI LAD MUSEUM
My eyes kept watching this oldest museum in Mumbai. Its
lavish preserved architecture, marble white painted walls, and bold standing
pillars screamed its history in everyone’s hearts!
THE
VICTORIAN CONSERVATORY
This wooden building won a heritage award some years ago but desperately needs restoration. The lattice wood work is shattered and the painted tile work flooring is fading.

INSIDE THE ZOO! WOO!
So, folks! Get ready for the stirring safari, between
countless fauna n' flora! Inside the zoo, my eyes kept staring at the lush
green and vivid varieties of flora! Just at the entrance we found a Zoo Map,
which clarified the routes, the site seeing spots, and services available in
there.
THE FAUNA
In the name of discipline, firstly, let us roll our eyes
over all the sites in the exact order mentioned by the Zoo Map.
Huge Elephant |
Hoppy sambhar deer |
Large Amphitheatre |
Royal lion |
Big hippos |
Beautiful Birds Paradise |
Scary wolf |
Loud barking deer |
Slow Turtle |

Tiger, crocodiles, otters, butterflies, bear, are not placed in the zoo. I was deeply saddened, not because I didn't get to see' but because now they are rare to be found and kept in a zoo. I kept on pondering, that someday this land belonged to them and today on the same land they are rare to find. This limelight’s the importance of conserving wildlife!
THE FLORA
However, it was an overwhelming experience to live encounter
these animals, which I once read in textbooks. I am a flora-lover, and was left
stunned to watch all the melodious blooms, and magnificent trees like,
Indian Elm |

BABAOB TREE
After a long walking, we reclined on the lush green grass,
under a huge banyan tree. Spending this time with my friends, took me back to
the 19's, an era with no social media, where friends chatted n' chirped in
circles. We took a short nap. Where my peace wrote a poem on the page of my
mind.
Peace in blood...
My eyes dipped in the
nectar of green
Resting in the lukewarm
sun...
Breathing in the air of
love
With peace in blood, with peace in blood...
