Hello everyone, Hope you all enjoying the monsoon
season. But real fun of monsoon comes in the Kokan area or Sahyadri mountains.
As I lived in Pune, my favourite destination is Lonavala...
So, finally after long period of time we planned
to travel for Lonavala with my best friends. In early morning with some rainy weather,
we started a bike ride for Lonavala.
After having long bike ride, we take a pause at a point and amazed with heavenly view of Lonavala route.The evergreen Lonavala was eye catching for few minutes. The small waterfalls throughout the route were quite peaceful with nature.The greenery sucks my mind as it was totally cinematic view for me. It was totally Joyful and Memorable journey so let’s go in the greenery of Lonavala.
Lonavala Lake
We were too much excited to visit our first spot Lonavala lake. This lake is located in outskirts 1.6 km away from the town; constructed in the year 1876 river Indrayani is the source of water for this lake. It is popularly known as the monsoon lake, as this lake is filled with water during monsoon months and dries up during the winter season different species of birds & fauna can spotted along the banks of the lake. Additionally, visitors came here for enjoying Holidays and excursions, swimming & stunning nature view.
Bhaja Caves
Second place to be visit was Bhaja caves. It was built around 200 BC by Buddhist nuns & they hold excellent architecture which can be seen in sculpture like the prince with his chariot animal’s sculptures such as elephant and tigers. There were 22 rock cat substantial characteristics one can moreover in the last cave and a pond besides it.
Nag-Fani
Nag-Fani, which is also known as the duke’s nose got its name from the top of the cliff which resembles the hood of a snake. It is ideal for trekking and hiking with its impressive inclines and slopes. Since it had a great topography for trekking, one can also dot across the forest and visit a few important landmarks.
HOW TO REACH LONAVALA-
Most people prefer bike ride for Lonavala because of its panoramic, spectacular view. Its advice to have a road trip of glorious Lonavala in monsoon with Motor vehicle.
- By flight - Nearest airport with connectivity & better flight rates is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj international airport in Mumbai & it is less than 100 km away from Mumbai there are regular taxi, buses & cabs.
- By road - If you’re flying from Mumbai to Pune airport for Lonavala, then you will have to do the rest of the journey by road. The best way to travel is by hiring a taxi from the airport or renting a car and drive from Mumbai to Lonavala. Doing so will be a great experience too as the drive is very scenic.
- By local train - You can visit Lonavala through local. Also. If you are in Mumbai, just use M-indicator app and have a time to time local for Khopoli. As you reach khopoli you can have cab in 15 RS you will reach Lonavala.
